IHSMA Adjudicator Requirements

1. You must have five years teaching experience - public/private school, collegiate or private studio;
2. You must attend an adjudicator certification clinic as sponsored by the Iowa High School Music Association. We accept, reciprocally, certification gained in other states if conducted under the auspices of the state activity office or organization responsible for state-wide festivals;
3. You must obtain two letters of recommendation from persons already on the "Approved" list of adjudicators. Have the writer submit their letter directly to the IHSMA office.

Upon completion of these criteria, the IHSMA office will forward a Judge´s Record Form card for your completion and return.

Regulations mandate every "Approved" adjudicator to attend a subsequent certification clinic, once every five years, in order to remain on the "Approved" listing.
